Healthy Living

Orientation

The Y encourages all new members to schedule a Healthy Living Orientation. This orientation is a wonderful way for you to connect with one of our Healthy Living coaches who will serve as your guide in your Wellness journey at the YMCA of Western North Carolina. In the orientation, you will meet with a Healthy Living Coach to discuss your health and wellness goals. You and your coach will also go through a general introduction to the Wellness Center as well as talk about the variety of Healthy Living Programs offered. You will leave with a plan and a coach that will help you reach your goals.

Appointment

With the support of a Healthy Living Coach, the Y's My Coach program offers six one-on-one coaching sessions that are structured to guide you to success. Coach meetings are designed to help you stay on track and maintain a balanced workout routine while keeping your wellness goals in focus. In My Coach, you can expect exercise program design assistance and equipment set-up. Pre- and post- physical assessments are measured and goals are set to help gauge progress and motivate you to success . Nutritional guidelines and helpful health articles will be specifically selected to match your goals and interests.
