YMCA of Western North Carolina Summer Day Camp Information
Registration Begins: March 17, 2008
Background: “A great place to be a kid.” In YMCA Summer Day Camp, traditional values and positive role models go hand-in-hand with friendships and fun. Summer Camp can be a memorable and magical time for children. At the YMCA, we believe in the potential of every child. Our caring staff takes an interest in each participant to ensure they have a wonderful camp experience. You’ll see a responsible group of well-trained camp staff that cares! YMCA of WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA SUMMER DAY CAMPS
What to Bring to Register for Summer Day Camp:
- Copy of each child’s immunization record (Buncombe County School locations only)
- Current color photo of child
- A $15 deposit for each week of camp or a payment in full for each weekly camp session
- A registration fee of $35 per child / $50 per family for school age, teen, and sports camps.
- A registration fee of $15 per child / $25 per family for preschool camps.
- A valid copy of your child care subsidy voucher (Buncombe County School locations only)
- A completed 2008 Registration Form
Financial Assistance Information: The YMCA’s Financial Assistance Program provides funds for those in need within our available resources. Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are available on our website at www.ymcawnc.org and at all YMCA of Western North Carolina locations.

Description: Weekly activities are planned around fun themes and include: field trips, camp songs, swimming, nature hikes, arts and crafts, team sports, group games, science, water play, drama and music and lots of outdoor free time to explore nature.

Description: These school based summer day camps are a great place for children to develop friendships, build character and have fun participating in traditional camp experiences! Activities are designed around a weekly theme and provide children with the following activities: field trip/swimming, group games, arts and crafts, camp songs, outdoor exploration, drama and music, nature walks, team sports and water play.

Discovery Pre-School Half Day Camp
Description: Developmentally age-appropriate activities including water fun, nature walks, music, arts & crafts, learning centers and story time coordinated with a weekly theme. Snack included.

Iddy Biddy Sports Camp
Description: This camp is for your youngest budding athlete. Our YMCA staff will guide your preschooler through multiple sports activities including soccer, basketball and baseball, as well as playground game

Mild Adventure Camp
Description: This camp is for the teen and pre-teen that likes the great outdoors and physical activity. Camp activities will include daily field trips, hiking, swimming, recreational games, outdoor skills challenge and much more.

Teen Extreme Camp
Description: Summer fun for teens! Adventure activities include rock climbing, rafting, hiking, paintball, aerobics, scavenger hunts, swimming, recreation, service projects, and team-building.

Wild Adventure Camp
Description: This camp is for the teen and pre-teen with a brave and extremely adventurous heart. Activities will include high ropes course, outdoor rock climbing, white water rafting, bouldering, mountain biking, and more.

Description: A fun and instructional camp geared toward player skill development and basketball fundamentals. Camp leadership includes players with college basketball experience.

Description: Flag football camp provides a fun opportunity for campers to increase their football ability and skills through drills, lessons, and scrimmages before the YMCA's Fall NFL Flag Football League.
