Brumit Restaurant Group promotes YMCA Camp Watia

Asheville, N.C., May 30, 2017 – The Brumit Restaurant Group (BRG) of Asheville has kicked off its second annual fundraising campaign to support YMCA Camp Watia. Through June 25, BRG’s 47 Arby’s locations in North and South Carolina will give customers who make a donation a coupon for free Arby’s treats.

Opened in 2016 on more than 900 pristine acres near Bryson City, YMCA Camp Watia is the YMCA of Western North Carolina’s first overnight camp. It gives children ages 7-17 the opportunity to unplug from technology, connect with nature, and make new friends in a caring, supportive environment.

“Summer camp isn’t about spending money, it’s about investing in a child’s life. We are thrilled to be able to impact the lives of so many children,” said JoAnn Reilly Yoder, president and COO of BRG, LLC. “Camp is about letting kids be kids, making friendships, connecting with nature and making memories that will last a lifetime.”

Last year’s BRG promotion raised $40,000 toward the company’s five-year, $150,000 commitment to YMCA Camp Watia. BRG is also sending three children of Arby’s staff to camp again this year.

“Joe and Janice Brumit and the dedicated team at the Brumit Restaurant Group are committed to giving all children the opportunity to connect, explore, and achieve at YMCA Camp Watia,” said Paul Vest, president and CEO of the YMCA of WNC. “We greatly appreciate their generosity and their customers’ support.”
