YMCA Camp Watia: Safety First

Health and Wellness

At YMCA Camp Watia, the health and well-being of our campers is our foremost concern. Our Camp Health Center is staffed 24 hours a day by our highly skilled and trained staff. All daily medications are facilitated and managed through this area. We instill the importance of all safety policies: all campers and staff are required to take a swim test before the beginning of their camp session. We also require campers and staff to wear lifejackets while participating in any watercraft activity. Our waterfront and specialty camp activities are staffed by properly trained and certified staff at all times.

Our Great Staff

YMCA Camp Watia also understands the importance of positive and strong role models in the lives of today’s young people. Each summer a group of enthusiastic and kid-loving staff come to YMCA Camp Watia to ensure all of our campers have a safe and fun summer camp experience. Our staff members come from various local universities as well as out of state and as far as Australia and Europe. We believe a well-trained, passionate staff is crucial to an exciting and unforgettable summer camp experience. All staff members undergo an extensive six-day professional training program together in preparation for our campers’ arrival.

Mission Statement: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
