An Asheville-area cycling event to celebrate life and health and raise scholarship funds to allow 100 local individuals to participate in LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. Almost 200 survivors in the Asheville area are on a waiting list to participate in the program, which costs $515 per individual. Brainchild of Laurey Masterton, a cycling enthusiast and cancer survivor herself, the goal of the inaugural JOYride is to raise $51,500 in scholarships for 100 Asheville area residents. Are you ready for Summer Day Camp? Discover Summer Camp through participatory exploration & active involvement with the Y. Social recreation, camp crafts & camp traditions provide a rich camper experience. Each week provides hands-on activities including environmental exploration, field trips, theme days & activities. Age appropriate groups provide a structure for campers to develop self-esteem, learn cooperative skills & practice the Y’s four core values of CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY.
