Honoring the Life and Legacy of Ken Glass

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ken Glass on February 7, 2026. Ken and his family were the founding donors of Camp Watia, and their vision and generosity helped bring this extraordinary place to life more than a decade ago.

Together with his wife Nancy Glass and their daughter Lara Glass, Ken worked closely with now-retired President and CEO Paul Vest and YMCA leadership to establish Camp Watia as a place where young people could experience the power of camp, connection, and belonging. Their shared vision and commitment ensured that Camp Watia would serve generations of youth with intention, care, and purpose.

For more than 10 years, Camp Watia has stood as one of the YMCA’s most meaningful youth development initiatives, shaping lives through outdoor adventure, mentorship, and community. Countless young people have discovered confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging along its trails.

Memorial gifts made in Ken’s honor support the Vest Family Camp Watia Fund, continuing his enduring legacy of care, opportunity, and belief in young people. These gifts ensure that the values Ken and his family championed live on through every camper who finds their place at Camp Watia.
