No childcare or pool just yet. We will still have our group exercise classes outside tomorrow, but we will reassess for the rest of the week. Visit our mobile app for more details.

Black Mountain YMCA and Ferguson Family YMCA
Our Y in Black Mountain suffered extensive flood damage and is now under repair. The Ferguson Family YMCA is still without water. Please join us for classes at Reuter or Woodfin if you are able.

YMCA of WNC Community Health Mobile Food Markets
With the loss of MANNA’s food distribution center, the YMCA of WNC's Community Health team is working harder than ever to increase local food security. Our next mobile food markets are:

Thursday, Oct. 10: Reuter Family YMCA, 12 p.m.

These markets will have fresh produce as well as shelf-stable goods at no cost. In addition, distributions of water and shelf-stable food are happening daily at the Asheville Y, Corpening Memorial Y, and Reuter Y. All are welcome, no questions asked. More markets coming soon.

We’re working with partners to source water, nonperishable food, and healthy produce, but the need is immense. We appreciate all the donations and thank our partners for their collaboration. We couldn’t do this without our amazing community! Please follow YMCA of WNC Community Health on Facebook for updates in English and Spanish.

Free access to online exercise classes
Y members and the public have free access to online fitness classes through Virtual Y. Find on-demand classes from Y instructors and Les Mills. Follow this link to get your virtual sweat on.

Donating appreciated securities is a wonderful way to help support your community. The Y’s policy is to sell the stock or security and put the proceeds to work locally. Per the IRS, the YMCA establishes the value of the stock by calculating the mean average price on the date ownership is transferred. Many donors also choose to calculate their tax deduction this way using a receipt from the Y that notes the name and number of shares, the date they were received into Y’s account, and the high and low values per share on the date the securities were transferred.

Before making a gift of securities, please make sure to discuss your particular situation, including tax benefits, with your financial advisor. Click here for instructions on securities transfers. Please contact us if you need more information.
