When school's out for winter or spring break, teacher work days, or other one-off holidays, the Y is in with all-day, fun active child care. It's a win-win. There's no "I'm bored!" from the kids, and you don't have to stress while you're at work.
Summer Day Camps
The YMCA of Western North Carolina offers a variety of award-winning summer day camps throughout the region. Science, sports, arts, and adventure—we’ve got a camp for every child.
The Y offers a variety of half-day camps where kids can learn the structure of camp in a shorter time-frame, through activities like sports, theater, arts & crafts, and more.
Counselors-in-Training (CITs) will learn leadership and basic job skills in a fun camp environment. Field trips, lock-ins, and time with friends are high points of the CIT experience. Open to ages 12-15.
Extreme Adventure Camp
Offsite, field-trip based camp for the true outdoor enthusiast. All campers must be able to pass a swim test and be ready to hike, swim, and explore the Blue Ridge Parkway. Adventure awaits!

Located in Buncombe and McDowell counties, our Discovery Camps offer licensed childcare to rising first through sixth graders. Campers participate in theme based weeks exploring Arts, Science and Sports.
Time to get outside! Explorer Camp is a traditional outdoor adventure day camp. Activities include archery, high and low ropes, gardening, forestry, field trips, and more. Open to rising kindergarteners through sixth graders.
