YMCA Swimming names Kirk Hampleman regional representative
Competitive swimming leader to build more relationships in swim community
Asheville, N.C., Feb. 22, 2018 – Kirk Hampleman, association director of competitive swimming for the YMCA of Western North Carolina and leader of the YMCA Piranhas Swim Team, has been named the Regional Representative for YMCA Swimming and Diving in the Upper Southeast region.
"Kirk brings coaching and leadership experience in the YMCA, USA Swimming, and NCAA. He has developed strong relationships across the swimming and YMCA communities and looks forward to building upon those relationships to support, promote and grow competitive swimming in the region," said Meredith Griffin, group leader of YMCA Swimming's Regional Representatives.
Hampleman is looking forward to serving in this volunteer role. "For some time now I have been looking for opportunities to serve as a volunteer in the governance of the sport of swimming," he said. "I look forward to being an advocate for the sport within the YMCAs in the Upper Southeast region. I will also be able to mentor other coaches and help with their growth within the YMCA and the sport of swimming. I am greateful for the chance to volunteer and help the YMCA movement."
The Piranhas Swim Team is a year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities.
