Back to school, back to the Y
School is back in session, and the Y is here to help students make the most of every afternoon. Our afterschool program provides a safe, enriching environment for kids to have fun after the school day ends. Spots are open and financial assistance is available. Sign up today!
Parents, take time for you
Need a break? Enjoy an evening to yourself with Parents Night Out at the Y. This program is a fun, safe, and affordable alternative to babysitting for kids ages 1-12. Parents Night Out is open to the public and is offered at multiple locations on different dates. Find the option that works best for you here.
Bonus: Every quarter, household members and single adult members with dependents receive one free Parents Night Out session.
Members can also take advantage of the Kids Club program. This half-day benefit allows you to leave the facility while your child has fun in a safe environment. Programs are offered at multiple YMCA locations with a variety of dates and times. Available for ages 1-12. Find upcoming sessions here.
Developing future leaders
The Y's Youth and Government program gives teens the opportunity to engage in real-world topics while learning how to use their voice, build leadership skills, and make a difference in their communities alongside their peers. Water safety is always in season
Swimming is a lifelong skill and there’s always more to learn. The Y offers swim lessons to help swimmers at every level build confidence and feel safer in the water. Find the lesson that works for you and sign up here.
Ready to take your swimming skills to the next level? Join the Piranhas! The YMCA of WNC Piranhas is our year-round competitive swim team designed to challenge swimmers both in and out of the water.

Helping you live better
Join us on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for Healthy Aging Day at the Reuter Family Y! This free community event is dedicated to celebrating healthy aging and supporting older adults. We’ll host class demos, informative lectures, free health screenings, giveaways, and more. Plus, the first 100 participants will receive a free T-shirt! Strong today, steady tomorrow
Join us Sept. 21-25 for Falls Prevention Awareness Week to raise awareness about the fall risks older adults face and ways to prevent them. The Y offers a variety of programs designed to improve balance and build strength so individuals can remain safe, active, and independent.

- FergusonFit: Mon., Wed., Fri., Sept. 21-Dec. 11 from 1-2 p.m. at the Ferguson Family Y

Combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, pickleball is a sport that's easy to learn and fun for all ages.
