Upcoming renovations at the Reuter Family YMCA
You asked and we listened! We're investing in the future of our Reuter Family YMCA, starting Aug. 9 with renovations to our pool area and locker rooms.
Pool area projects include:
- Removing old plaster and applying a new layer for a clean, smooth finish
- Installing new tile racing lines
- Deep cleaning
- Thoroughly checking integrity to ensure longevity
In the men's and women's locker rooms, we're installing brand-new lockers and renovating the shower areas.
Construction schedule
The hot tub, lap pool, therapy pool, and locker rooms will be closed during construction on these dates:
- Pool area: Aug. 9-Sept. 21
- Locker rooms: Aug. 10-20; please plan to change before your visit or use one of our all-gender restrooms
Where to swim during renovations
We're excited to announce additional lap and open swim opportunities just down the street at the Buncombe County Schools Aquatics Center, starting Aug. 11. Swim lessons will also continue at this location, which is pictured below.
There's no extra cost for you to use this state-of-the-art facility. The complete week-by-week schedule will be available soon on our website. Please check the schedule for designated YMCA swim times before heading that way.
The Aquatics Center will have a YMCA check-in table, so there's no need to go to the Reuter Family Y first.
