The YMCA of Western North Carolina was founded as a volunteer-led organization. Today, hundreds of volunteers share their talents with us, contributing thousands of hours of time.
Our volunteers assist programs such as youth sports, where they serve as role models and share their hearts with children as they grow and play. In the centers, they are the friendly faces greeting members and making them feel welcomed and valued. Volunteers with our nutrition programs provide hope to our neighbors at our food pantry and mobile distributions.
Throughout the association, in whatever role they choose, volunteers work alongside staff to embody our four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. They strengthen our community by being determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming. We are truly honored and grateful for each of our volunteers.
